I love that Guy Fieri added Alaska and Hawaii to the list Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Not

sure why he doesn't visit Colorado as I don't see it on the map. We went to Chicago over the

New Years and visited all those places. Frosted Mug was closed and the Mac and Cheese at

Dell Rheas Chicken Basket was extremely fattening and good!

took my family to twisted root saturday night for supper. stood in line for over an hour only to be slapped with an 18% gratuity fee at the register. gratuity for what!? we had been standing in line to order, would pick up our food when our order was called, wiped down our own table, and had to bus it after our meal... the manager's explanation was that they were allowed to just slip in a gratutity fee on large checks "just because they could get away with it!" ... and as to the burger, anything would taste good when you've waited almost two hours for it!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! they were also showcased on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives last night...so cool! This is one of those quintisential burgers joints, awesome atmosphere, great home-made burgers with any kind of topping, good beer, and a place to watch the game! Although i must admit my favorite part is how they call your order up! I tried the black bean burger (sigh i'm trying to stay on a diet) and it was awesome! never felt like I was on a diet at all.

When I am in Dallas visiting relatives, the Twisted Root is always on the top of my list of "must do" stuff. Their buffalo burgers are the second best on the planet (my home-made bison burgers are number ONE).

I am oh-so-looking forward to a Twisted Root opening up in New Zealand...if only... sigh!
